Tower Bridge has launched its first ever quest to find an artist in residence. Applications close on December 4, and the resident artist will remain from the new year until March.

The role, that will pay £7,000 and require 2.5 days work a week, is the first of its kind for the London Bridge area. Art culture is becoming increasingly popular and influential across the capital and Tower Bridge is looking for an artist with a particular interest in the community.

Finding Artists in residence is an increasingly popular initiative across London’s galleries, museums and bridges, and Tower Bridge is one of many historical buildings and establishments to join the initiative.

Focused on finding a visual artist, Tower Bridge aims to bring the people of Southwark together through the art created during the artist’s residence.

Artists of all backgrounds and styles are encouraged to apply via Tower Bridge’s website further involving the public with art in the area.
