With London Mayor, Sadiq Khan recently being called “a terrible terrible mayor” by Donald Trump and recent outrage from Londoners due to Khan imposing a peak charge of £4 on vehicles travelling through the Blackwall Tunnel, SouthLondonLines went out onto the streets to find out how the public is effected by transport systems within London.

Anna Smith, 53, a Hairdresser from London who suffers from Multiple Sclerosis expressed ‘Khan is trying to do right by the public but his ‘execution’ of his plans are not always the best’. Anna brought up the issue of floating bus stops ,and how due to her condition they could be a serious hazard. Anna said, ‘these are going to be a problem for anyone who isn’t a normal well-functioning adult’ and went on to say, ‘they are going to be a problem for children and blind people’.

Sam Fletcher, 23, a delivery driver, living in London said he’s not ‘a big fan’ of Khan due to the ulez charge. ‘People who drive and deliver in London aren’t making that much money anyway, and now they must pay however much driving in certain areas.

Owen Furnish, 18, a Student at Goldsmiths University said ‘I don’t like him that much because travel is too expensive. When asked what change he would like to see within London Owen simply said, ‘cheaper travel and cheaper beer’.
