Music for mobile Brixton Soup Kitchen

Brixton Soup Kitchen will be holding a fund-raiser on March 21, with musicians performing to raise money for a mobile soup kitchen.
 
The Kitchen aims to garner £12,000 through crowd funding to create a mobile soup kitchen in order to reach other deprived surrounding areas.
 

The event consists of numerous Brixton based musicians and artists, all performing at the event in order to raise funds for the group. BSK are also expanding their charitable efforts towards having extra facilities, such as job and benefit support services a night shelter.

Top musicians such as N-Dubz’s Dappy and rapper Wiley have voiced their support for the fund-raising effort, which has now raised over £1000 in a blend of ticket sales, donations and sales from Brixton’s Buzz Beer at The Ritzy cinema.
 
Work at the soup kitchen is not solely focused on the provision of food to the impoverished, BSK also help with CV workshops, job guidance, and housing support from a grass roots level.
 
Solomon Smith, the 28 year old youth worker who manages BSK told the South West Londoner “We have a free venue and a great line-up and so hope to get as many as 1,800 people there”.
 
BSK are currently working to become a registered charity within England and Wales.
