Forget listening to traditional Christmas songs, locals in Brixton are being urged to buy IT’S BRIIIIIIXMAAAAAAS – a special compilation album with proceeds going to the Brixton Soup kitchen.

The album – to be released by Brixton Hill studios on 7 December – includes original music from six bands in Brixton and aims to support the homeless who attend Brixton Soup Kitchen, during a time where the demand for food and shelter is at its peak.

Brixton Hill Studios owner and Hot Sauce Pony Bassist, Stephen Gilchrist came up with idea.

Brixton Hill Studio’s Team Member and Recording Engineer, Alessio Costa, said: “It was put together by local bands that rehearse in Brixton to create this album, especially during Christmas time where everyone should be good and happy.”

Costa praised the services that are available to help the homeless and said: “The whole idea behind this album is to help Brixton Soup Kitchen. It is frightening how there are still many people in Brixton that can not financially get to the end of the month, and we are in 2018. There shouldn’t be a need for services for the homeless.”

Brixton Soup Kitchen said: “They contacted us and we thought this would be an amazing thing. We love music, and just doing this would be really amazing for the charity to raise funds.”

IT’S BRIIIIIIXMAAAAAAS, is available for pre-order and will be officially released on Brixton Hillbilly record label as a vinyl and CD.
