On the 20th March 2014 Trinity Hospice was voted by the Clapham branch of Sainsbury’ s as their best charity with a lovely donation of a box of chocolate eggs. Trinity Hospice which is based in Clapham with additional branches located in other parts of London such as central and SW London, are a charity organisation that provides the best end of life care and support for the ill.
Trinity Hospice thanked Sainsbury’s, the 2nd largest chain of supermarkets in the UK via twitter they wrote “A massive thank you to @sainsburys on Clapham High Street for donating us chocolate eggs and for making us their charity of the year.”
Originally called ‘Hostel of God’ before changing to Trinity Hospice, it was first established in 1891 It is now the most sought hospice in the UK. William Hoare was behind the creation of the hospice, originally appealing for funding to provide a home for, Hoare said in regards to the hospice being built that this is “For the man who is neither curable nor incurable, but simply dying.”
Trinity Hospice provide care for people in all capacities, majority of their patients usually are dying from cancer but they have had patients with long term conditions such as heart failure, lung or neurological.
Trinity Hospice Provide services such as nursing, medical care, counselling, practical support and more. On average Trinity are caring for 450 patients and annually around 2000 people, however they are not confined to their branch they also offer to care for you at home in your own comfort.
The best part of this care home is their patient and family services are completely free with an in-house clinical team ready to train anyone who is interested. Trinity currently house 540 volunteers who all give up 45,000 hours of their time each year.
