Byron Burger on Clapham High Street gives away hundreds of free burgers and more
Hordes of students bolted towards a burger chain in Clapham as it launched its new Christmas menu with masses of free burgers and beers given away.
Last week on Wednesday the 16th of November from 6pm at Byron Burger, 150 free burgers were given away plus thousands of beers and free tasters to celebrate the new seasonal menu starting.
The night formed the second of six of the restaurant’s ‘Cheesemas Parties’ in which they tour the new menu in six different Byrons up and down the country at the start of the Christmas season.
20-year-old student Myffi Puleston who attended the party said: “It was loads of fun and a free burger is exactly what you need when you’re skint, loads of my flatmates wanted to come. They’re healthier than McDonalds’s anyway.”
Claire, 28, a representative of the marketing team from Clapham’s Byron said: “It was an extra special night and the turn out was great. We chose Clapham as part of the new menu’s tour because aside from residents, it doesn’t seem many people know that Clapham has a branch, and it’s a new one too.”
Clapham’s Byron has been open for just over two years, and aside from the free hamburgers the restaurant also had craft beer provided by their partner company Brewdog up for grabs, all on a first come first serve basis.
Free tasters included different milkshakes and cheesy items from the new menu. The tasters were given away as a lucky dip throughout the duration of the evening.
Student Chris Saunders said: “It would make me more likely to book a meal here now I know about the new menu. It makes restaurants look better when they do things like this, it gave lots of students a free meal.”
The cost of a meal from the new menu is at a set price of £17.50 for a burger with any side and a drink.
Byron also runs an offer where groups of 20 people or more are given a free bottle of bourbon.
