The stadium rock band Aerosmith are to headline a festival in June on Clapham Common. They are the first group to be unveiled for the event which last year was staged at the Olympic Park.

Calling Festival will be the last date in Aerosmith’s Global Warming World Tour and the bands guitarist Joe Perry said: “It’s been far too long since we have performed in the UK. We can’t wait to bring back some of the classics as well as some of the new songs

The festival also confirmed English rock band Thunder, Seattle based, American rock band Walking Papers and American blues rock guitarist Joe Bonamassa will be playing on the Saturday with further acts to be announced.

Live Nation which hosts the event, have made priority tickets available for local residents, and prices start for all tickets at £62.50 plus booking fees. Live Nation said the festival will feature multiple stages with 20 of the hottest acts in rock and pop performing each day, some exciting surprises and amazing on site facilities including an array of food stalls, funfair and much more.

Live Nation’s Vice President of Promotions, Toby Leighton-Pope, said: “This year is one of the most exciting on record for the Calling Festival. We’re looking forward to bringing the new-look event to Clapham Common, one of London’s premiere outdoor locations. And we’re bringing one of America’s most iconic bands to headline Saturday 28 June. There’s still lots of announcements to come, including a big Sunday night headliner, and we’re excited at what’s in store.”

Calling Festival will take place on June 28 and 29.
