Cafe Rossi leaves a good impression on Londoners

Cafe Rossi

Café Rossi is not something you would expect to find in London Bridge, squeezed in-between high-end café’s and shops, but is surprisingly affordable for the area.

A small café located near London Bridge station noticeably seemed to grab a lot of visitor’s attention. The delicious pictures of a simple English Breakfast placed outside the café lured people in. Café Rossi is an eat-in or takeaway café, located on 57 Borough High Street, and is definitely a simple, cheap and decent café.

The seating area was narrow and there was roughly around six or seven tables arranged in the cafe. Music filled the café but didn’t drown out the conversations, a subtle aroma of  sausages and bacon enticed people in and everything was set up, ready to give your order. The menu offered a variety of food to choose from. Everything was cheap and the pictures appeared satisfying.

The menu was separated into sections such as ‘Home Made Pasta’, ‘Hot Food Selection’ and ‘On Toast’. There were also several drinks to choose from, mainly non-alcoholic. The kitchen was nowhere to be found until a loud knock came through a camouflaged white door with the chef behind it, holding three different plates at once.

The vegetable Lasagne, which was £5.50, came incredibly quick, which led me to believe it may have been ready made, hence the cheapness of it as well. Nonetheless, it tasted delicious, flavourful and hot. The Spaghetti Napoli (Tomato-Basil), which was also £5.50, left a strong lasting impression. The sauce tasted like a true home-cooked Italian delicacy and the Spaghetti was perfectly cooked and well presented.

Despite the delicious food that Café Rossi had to offer, the communication between the staff could have been better. There was a sense of miscommunication and irritation, which was evident. If English was their first language, it would have possibly created an intense atmosphere.

Most of the dishes were left unfinished but for the area, you couldn’t ask for a better value. Overall, the meals in Café Rossi left a pleasant response and is in a perfect location if you’re looking for somewhere to eat near London Bridge Station or are craving a full on English Breakfast, anytime of the day.
