The Camberwell Arts Open Studios returns for another round this December over two weekends.

The event has stirred excitement and talk among residents in Camberwell who are looking forward to what is in store. “This is the kind of thing that brings people together around the festive season. It’s a nice way to lead up to the Christmas holidays and even buy some presents!” said Marie Youngs, who has lived in Camberwell her whole life.

The first weekend starts on December 3rd and will be held in East Camberwell featuring the Winter Arts market. The second will take place in West Camberwell and begins on December 10th.

The Open Studios will be featuring over 125 local artists showcasing their pieces ranging from paintings, photography, ceramics, jewellery design and sculptures.

“Visiting individual artists is the perfect way to see some fantastic art, and visit some unique Camberwell homes too!” said Jordana, Leighton who is runs the Open Studios.

The Winter Arts Market will also involve festive entertainment and an array of stalls selling various Christmas items like gifts, cards and stocking fillers.

“It’s great that people will be able to buy gifts locally and support local artists who live in Camberwell. I’m looking forward to taking the little ones to see all the market stalls. I think it’s going to be a lovely day for everyone,” said Gemma Thomas, who has been a resident in Camberwell for over 10 years.
