An unmarked police car rolled into a market stall at Surrey Street Market in Croydon in an arrest operation following an armed robbery this morning

A man in his 60s was injured in the accident on High Street, Croydon as the Flying Squad was chasing the five men on suspicion of having committed the armed robbery of a Post Office.

Two other people were also sent to the hospital by LAS with non-life threatening injuries although there were no shots fired by the suspects or police.

The Flying Squad, assisted by officers from the Specialist Firearms Command, arrested five men following the chase. A firearm and cash have been recovered.

All suspects have been taken to a south London police station and are in custody.
