Five men were arrested today following an armed robbery of the High Street Post Office in Croydon.

Members of the Metropolitan Police Flying Squad, along with Specialist Firearms Command, arrested four of the men this morning in the vicinity of the Croydon Post Office.

One of the men was arrested in a car park near the Post Office, while the other three were apprehended on foot.

The fifth man was arrested in a car park on Scarbrook Road later this afternoon.

All five men are in police custody at a south London police station and have been charged with conspiracy to commit armed robbery.

Police recovered a firearm and cash when they arrested the men.

No shots were fired during the arrest, but an unmarked police car rolled into a nearby market stall. LAS attended the scene and two people were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Police are still enquiring into the robbery.
