Hero night porter tortured for Hotel’s safe keys

A manhunt is under-way for two men following a brutal attack and torture of a hotel porter during a burglary this morning in Lewisham.

The criminals left with only £15 from Jury’s Hotel, Lewisham Way after torturing Frank Stuart in an attempt to locate the hotel’s safe keys. Stuart is currently in a satisfactory condition in Whittington Hospital, North London.

Detective Inspector James Dallowey of Lewisham Police said: “The attack occurred yesterday morning at 03:30am , Stuart was subjected to brutal torture to get him to give the location of the hotel safe. attacks became more severe when he wouldn’t talk.Stuart’s wife Maureen, 50 said: “Frank was terrified, the worse they got the more determined he was to not let them get away with it, he is very brave.

Jeremy Bates, Hotel Manager said: “We think Frank is a hero and the hotel is offering £500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of these men.”

The Police described the two suspects as being white and having local accents. One male is 5”11, early 20’s, stocky build with dark short hair and the other is 5”4, 30 years old, thin build with long brown hair.

Police are appealing for any information on the two suspects.
