In celebration of its 20th anniversary, Camberwell Arts is throwing two Open Studios events where artists will be selling their artwork to the public directly from their studios.

The Open Studio events will be taking place on two occasions – one in East Camberwell on November 29-30 and the second event held in West Camberwell, on December 12-14.

Among this year’s sponsors are ‘The Camberwell Society’ and ‘Arts Council England’, with the support from Haart, Southwark Council and University of the Arts, London.

The main objective of this initiative is to promote Camberwell through art and introduce those artists who are from this area to the wider public. Its secondary aims are to encourage local residents to interact with the world of art, as well as enhance the feelings of a community and improve the range of social activities in the area.

“Come to the Open House if you can, you’ll meet lots of artists and see wonderful work both here and at Vanguard Court round the corner” – says Gabriela Szulman, one of the artists participating in this year’s Open Studios event. She creates unique vintage prints, greeting cards, jewellery and scarves, inspired by her memories.

Additionally, all artwork will be available to buy at a lower price than usual, as an inclination of the first drops of Christmas spirit in the air. It will be an opportunity to acquire original gifts for loved ones without spending too much money on Christmas shopping.

The list of notable artists, who are throwing the doors of their studios open, includes names such as Alice White, Anthony Lee, Eleanor Ashfield and Sarah Doyle.

The brochure of the event is available to download from Camberwell Arts’ official website- www.camberwellarts.org
