Teenage gang sentenced to 13 years after committing a string of knifepoint robberies

Today, a gang of teenagers has been “sentenced to 13 years behind bars after committing a string of violent knifepoint moped robberies” in Lambeth, Southwark and Westminster.

The four teenagers found guilty of this violent robbery have carried out at least 13 robberies since December last year. Met police reported that they caught the teenagers “wearing skull and crossbones motif masks” while targeting moped gangs. Camera footage used in evidence at the inner London crown court, suggests that the gang “forced scooter riders off their machines as they rode down the street.” A CCTV video located in Knatchbull Road, Brixton identified “one moped rider was shown being forced to stop before he was stabbed in the elbow and made to hand over his key.”

The “masked gang” included a 19-year-old female singer and a 16-year-old boy from south London who has been “convicted of killing a man by throwing a marine distress flare into his car ““for fun”” as he slept inside it.” The Evening standard reported that the “moped gang stole phones, wallets, handbags and laptops using threats of violence and knives. Six scooters were stolen by the group, with four taken from their owners by force.”
